Walk By Faith Not By Sight

Posted By at Wednesday, October 03, 2018

The message contained in this Blog is simple yet very profound, and is the basic message of faith to the church today.

So many Christians have the attitude: I’ll believe it when I see it.

But God’s Word teaches us to believe it first and then you’ll see it.

In other words we are to walk by faith in God’s Word first, before we actually see anything with our physical eyes.

In John 8:32 Jesus said, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

What Jesus meant there was a working knowledge of truth would keep us free from the wiles of the enemy, who was out to trap us.

Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:5-10 "Now He, who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. 6 So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. 9 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad."

Now notice some very important things Paul says here. Vs. 7 "For we walk by FAITH, not by SIGHT."

Many of us walk by our sight [senses] and not by what God says in His Word at various times in our lives. Sometimes, we wait for our bodies to show signs of healing before we confess we are healed. Then, other times we wait for the $XXX to show up in our bank account before we confess we have our inheritance and all we need financially.

REMEMBER this thought - Faith is what you have when you don’t have what you want.

What I want you to understand today is, walking by faith is in fact walking by INSIGHT, rather than by sight.

Our Faith Must Be Unreasonable

Posted By at Wednesday, July 04, 2018

There were times in Jesus' ministry when He didn't allow unbelief to be around Him. An example was the time He went to raise Jairus' daughter from the dead. Jesus took with Him only those who would believe that He was the Anointed One who could raise the dead.

Only those who can believe by-pass their own human reasoning will see God move miraculously in their life.

Mark 5:36 Jairus is told that his daughter was dead. But, "...As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said unto the ruler of the synagogue, be not afraid, only believe."

So Jesus headed for Jairus' house with only three of His disciples.

Mark 5:37 "And he allowed no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James."

He only took the ones He knew could believe for miracles.

They got to the house and saw everyone crying, and then Jesus made a statement of faith: "...Why make ye this ado, and weep? The damsel is not dead, but sleepeth."

Now that statement was absolutely unreasonable to their natural mind and their emotions, they had already begun to weep because they knew she was dead!

"And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out…."

When Jesus went to deal with the spirit of death, He made sure there would be no contaminated faith around. There only had to be unreasonable faith, pure and simple.

Sometimes you will have to put out those who cannot believe or those who laugh at you using faith!

Imagine for a moment if you can, someone's relative just died and the whole family is at the house. They're crying and carrying on as it normally happens.

Then Jesus walks in and says, "What are you crying for? She's not dead, she's just sleep."

Now the parents had made a decision already to believe God; remember Jairus said in Mark 5:23 "...come lay your hands on her heal her and she shall live!"

So, when Jesus got there, He took her little girl by the hand and told her, "Little girl get up." The girl got up. Praise God! She was alive and healed at 12 years of age.

It's when we decide to believe what God said, that we will have victory. Even though the circumstances look bleak, we must believe God's Word anyway. And when we believe the Word of God over our own human reasoning, when our faith becomes unreasonable to the human standard of thinking; we will have our desired result.

Your Faith Will Get God's Attention

Posted By at Wednesday, April 18, 2018

Luke 8:43-48 A woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. "Who touched me?" Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, "Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you." But Jesus said, "Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me." Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and…told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace."

I want you to notice three important things in this story:

1. She did something she’d never done before.

She decided to try Jesus. That's always a wise move! Faith means stepping into the unknown and the untried, finding God’s grace at work in unexpected ways. Deciding to trust God irrespective of the circumstances.

2. She recognized her moment.

She knew that Jesus was visiting her town and might not come back. There are God-moments in life when you’ve got to overcome your fear and move out in faith. If you don’t, you’ll miss them. Sometimes you just need to make the move and not be moved by what others might think.

3. She opened the door for others.

Up until this time no one in Scripture had been healed by touching Jesus’ garment. So her act of faith opened the door for others.

Matt 14:35-36 People brought all their sick to him and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed.

God is looking for people who are willing to break with their traditions and to get away from religion. When He finds them, He uses them to open doors and new dimensions of His power, so that others too might be blessed and made whole.

You Can Be Healed Today!

Acts 10:38 "And you no doubt know that Jesus of Nazareth was anointed by God with the Holy Ghost and with power, and He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the demons, for God was with Him."

Healing is part of our covenant rights!

As Christians we are part of a covenant; that's an agreement made by God with man, through Jesus. God represented Heaven and Jesus represented man, (you and me) in that agreement. God cannot fail and Jesus did not fail so therefore the New Covenant cannot fail. The new covenant is a health covenant (as well as many other aspects).

3 John 2 "I want that you should prosper in every way and that your body be healthy as your soul (mind and will) prospers."

The Old Testament people (before Calvary) had healing. Everyone Jesus healed in the Gospels received what they were already entitled to under the old covenant, but when Jesus hung on the cross at Calvary He said in John 19:30 "It is finished."

He meant the old covenant had finished. He had brought it all to completion and the new covenant had arrived. No longer only healing, but divine health became available because of Calvary.

God is interested in your physical well-being! In fact Divine Health is all His idea.

He is as interested in your health just as much as he is interested in your spiritual condition. Calvary took care of the physical as well as the spiritual. In Isaiah 53 the prophet looks down through the corridor of time and describes Jesus at Calvary hundreds of years later.

Note Isa 53:3-5 Amplified Bible "He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness. And like one from whom men hid their faces He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him.

4 Surely He has borne our grief's (sicknesses, weaknesses and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains - yet we (ignorantly) considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God (as if with leprosy).

5 But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities. The chastisement (needful to obtain) peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes (that wounded) Him we are healed and made whole."

1 Peter 2:24 Amplified Bible "He personally bore our sins in His (own) body on the tree (as an altar and offered Himself on it) that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed."

Psalm 107:20 Amplified Bible "He sends forth his word and heals them and rescues them from the pit and destruction."

Isaiah 58:8 Amplified Bible "Then your light shall break forth like the morning, and your health (your restoration and the power of a new life shall spring forth speedily, your righteousness (your rightness and justice, and your right relationship with God) shall go before you (conducting you to peace and prosperity) and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard."

Just remember this faith is what you have when you don't have what you want!

When you have what you want you don't need faith for it any more.

You can walk in health by walking in God's Word. Take God's Word for the state of your body, not what your body tells you. Your body has nothing to tell you but you have something to tell your body!

God Still Performs Miracles

Posted By at Wednesday, November 08, 2017

I spoke to someone recently and they seemed surprised when I said that God still does miracles today. They seemed to think miracles were a thing of the past and only happened in Bible days. I assured them God had not changed as Malachi 3:6 tells us He is the Lord and He does not change!

But what is a miracle? A miracle is described as 'an extraordinary event wrought by God that cannot be explained by any natural means'.

Every time you stretch and use your faith, you please God according to Hebrews 11:6, and He performs miracles in response to your faith, I believe every time.

God does perform miracles today and I myself am proof.

Back in 1971 when I came to Australia with my wife and two children, I was a registered disabled person following a major motor accident in which I received five compound fractures in the left leg. I developed a problem with gangrene due to road dirt getting into the breaks. I was in hospital in 1967-68 for 14 months and had 14 major surgeries, including bone and skin grafts. It took a further two years to recover and my left leg was some five centimetres, (2.5 inches), shorter than the right, due to surgeons trimming the bone to try to get it to knit. It was during that hospital period that I got born again and committed my life to Jesus Christ. When we came to Australia I went to a meeting and was prayed for by Australia Evangelist Pastor Norm Armstrong [who became my mentor]. God wonderfully and immediately replaced the 5 cms of bone that had been removed during the trimming of the bone in the 14 operations back in Ireland. Up to that evening I had been wearing a built up shoe to help with walking and staying level.

Since that time I have been privileged to see God perform many miracles with other people as we have prayed for their need to be met. A number of people have been healed from incurable conditions, several people have been raised back to life by His miracle working power, all glory to His Name.

Today here is a question! Is there a problem in your life that needs a miracle?

Perhaps you have already decided that nothing is going to change! If that is so, then it, unfortunately, is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

How do you know things won't change? Is it because it has been that way for so long you see no chance of it changing? You have become so used to the situation, just like old comfortable slippers or jacket you don't want to get rid off.

But God wants you to stretch your faith today and supersede all the laws of nature and of man. God has done it many times in the past and He can do it again for you if you can believe His Word.

Matthew 19:26 New Living Translation Jesus looked at them intently and said, "Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible."

In John 15:7 Jesus said, "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you."

God is still in the miracle working, mountain moving business! So don't ever doubt or underestimate what He wants and can do in your life if you can believe.

Jesus also said in Mark 11:23-24 "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them."

You have to speak God's Word LOUDER than the mountain or the problem is speaking to you.

Finally in John 14:12 Jesus said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."

Go on, today, try to get your faith operating and get ready for the miracles! God is greater than any situation you find yourself in everyday.

How Much Do You Want It?

Posted By at Wednesday, September 27, 2017

Matthew 15:22-28 A Canaanite woman...came to him, crying out, "Lord...My daughter is suffering terribly from demon possession" ...He answered, "I was sent only to...Israel. It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs." "Yes, Lord," she said, "but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table." Then Jesus answered, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.''

This Gentile woman was not an Israelite, she was an outsider, a Canaanite; yet she pushed through and got what other, too comfortable insiders often miss out on.

She had to overcome some hurdles!

First, Jesus refused to answer her.

Second, He said, "What I have is only for the Jews."

Finally He said, "It wouldn't be right to give the children's bread to dogs."

Most people would have walked away offended at that point. But not her! She cried, "Have mercy on me."

She wasn't asking for what she deserved, she was crying out for what she needed; that was her daughter to be healed.

As a result of her faith, Jesus removed every obstacle and answered her prayer.

So if we persist, He will do the same for us too. In reality, this woman told Jesus, "Let the children have the bread, all I need are the crumbs!"

Many in the church become so complacent that we neglect the bread, waste the bread, complain about the bread, and many times don't even come to church to get the bread.

But people who get desperate enough pick up the crumbs and find life!

We need to remember that if there's power in the loaf, there's also power in the crumb. And if a crumb is all you can get, a crumb is all you need.

So what do you need from God today and how much do you really want it?

Consider Your Position Not Your Condition!

Posted By at Wednesday, July 12, 2017

I think many Christians need to stop worrying about their condition and start focusing on their position!

I say that because your condition will never change until you understand your position.

Any condition is temporary; they come and go. But your position 'in Christ' is eternal.

2 Cor 4:17-18 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Look at what Paul says in 2 Cor 5:17 "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature old things have passed away and all things have become new."

And then he says in Ephesians 1:7 "in whom we have redemption through his blood..."

That means you're forgiven, redeemed, and perfected in the eyes of God - that's present tense!

Redemption means 'payment of ransom.' It depicts God holding you in prison under a death sentence because of your sin. But when He sees the blood of Jesus all claims against you are thrown out of court, your prison door swings open and you're set free.

How awesome is that? No matter how hard you try or how dedicated you become, you couldn't, in fifty lifetimes, pay off your debt. Only Jesus could do that because only He could offer a life completely free from sin.

So when the devil points to your condition, you have to remind him of your position.

Show him you are working out what the Holy Spirit has already worked within!

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who HAS blessed us with EVERY spiritual blessing in the heavenly places IN Christ.

When you stumble or face a problem, God doesn't fall off His throne with worry.

No, He's already placed within you all that's necessary to handle the situation and overcome it.

You see, maturing In Christ is simply the process by which we learn to work out what God has already worked within.

Think about a baby in its mother's womb. It already has every gene, every chromosome and trait required, built into it from conception. Likewise, when you're born into God's family, you don't just get one or two spiritual blessings; you get ALL spiritual blessings. As a baby Christian you don't know who you are or what you've got, so the Holy Spirit's job is to reveal it to you.

When you do the standing - God does the strengthening!

Paul said in Phil 4:13 NKJ "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

God doesn't just strengthen you once; He'll strengthen you again and again. He'll strengthen you every time you face a difficult challenge, every time a memory comes back to haunt you, every time you're reminded of your imperfect past, every time you face a difficult decision.

Drawing from God the strength you need to stand up to the devil may take some effort. It may take your praise, your prayer and getting into His Word with intensity like you've never done before.

But the fact is - you can stand up to the devil if you really want to!

Have a blessed week, don't wait, do it now!

God's Word is Medicine

Posted By at Wednesday, February 08, 2017

The scripture in Exodus 15:26 says, "I am the LORD who heals you."

Psalm 103:2-3; "...the LORD who heals all your diseases."

God is your physician. The medicine He prescribes is His Holy Word.

Psalm 107:20 NLT He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.

Jeremiah 30:17 The Message Bible As for you, I’ll come with healing, curing the incurable.

That's a great verse for anyone who has been told they have a terminal illness!

John 1:14 So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

Prov 4:20-22 My son, attend to my words; incline your ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life unto those that find them and health [or medicine] to all their flesh.

God's Word has the directions for your cure. You must follow the directions for the medication that God has prescribed to you for the life and health of your body.

The directions He has given in Prov 4:20-22 tell us to pay attention to what God says. LISTEN carefully to His words. Don't lose SIGHT of His words. Let His Words PENETRATE deep into your heart. It is His Words that bring LIFE to you and HEALING to all your body.

Let me share a testimony with you today.

A number of years ago when we moved into a new house; I was removing some rubbish in a large black plastic bag and as I grabbed the bag to put it on the trailer, a razor blade in the rubbish slashed the third finger of my left hand right to the bone. Blood gushed everywhere and in the natural it would have required several stitches. I wrapped a handkerchief around it and began to remind God about His promises.

The Holy Spirit then brought to my memory Ezekiel 16:6, "When I passed by thee and saw thee in thine own polluted blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live!..."

This Word from God's Word became medicine in my flesh as I spoke it out and believed it could be a reality for me right away. As I spoke I released the power of The Word by faith and I commanded the blood flow to stop in Jesus' Name. Immediately the flow slowed and within a couple of hours, there was only a white mark where there should have been several stitches.

I had used my plan of action! Do you have a plan should you ever need it???

Hebrews 4:12 "God's Word is quick (alive) and powerful (filled with God's power)......"

You must have your plan of action to use by faith when the circumstances demand it!

Television programs; no matter how good they may be, will not give you a plan of action!

Most books only inform you, but it takes God's Word to transform you, and your own diligent application of it to produce such a plan.

It is necessary to meditate in His Word for success.

The Word must be practical otherwise it is of no value in the emergency situation.

If your home caught fire, what would you do?

Perhaps phone your pastor and ask him to pray while the fire burns stronger and your home is demolished? That probably sounds silly! But what you need is the Fire Brigade to come and put the fire out!

But if you have a plan of action already working in your life, you would be walking in the sure and certain knowledge of what the Prophet Isaiah said; Isaiah 43:2 "....when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the fire kindle upon thee."

You must have this Word working in your life as a part of your daily walk, then there is no way the Devil can burn your house down!

The same principle works for the health in your body!

God's Word is full of medicine. I can send you a list if you will be diligent and study and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to them.

Remember that you may not always be full of faith, so you should be constantly feeding God's Word into your spirit man to stay in faith!

IF IN ANY DOUBT GO TO THE DOCTOR!

Be encouraged to start to make your plan of action and if you give God the same time and opportunity as the doctor, you'll be surprised how much He is able to do for you!

Yes! Faith and Medicine can mix!

Another testimony; about two years ago I took an uncomfortable pain in my side, and as it didn't improve, I went to the doctor. He diagnosed diverticulitis. My response was, "I will have to pray about that!"

When I came home I prayed and God spoke into my heart and said not to eat any more red meat. And I loved a nice steak! So I choose to stop eating red meat and I've had no more trouble with the pain. I still eat chicken and fish, and that's no problem.

NOTE: [This was a word God gave ME, it is not a general word for everyone with diverticulitis. You need to seek God for yourself.

If you are taking prescription medicine, continue taking it, but pray and seek God and you will come to a place where God's Medicine, (The Word), will become more powerful in your flesh and you'll start to live by it daily!

I have a book entitled FAITH AND MEDICINE, DO THEY MIX? on this subject that's on special this month. I can send it to you for $20 post paid, just contact us if you'd like a copy, or my list of healing scriptures to help you study God's Word and devise your Healing Plan.

Become God-Inside Minded

Posted By at Wednesday, November 30, 2016

One of the most important revelations we can gain from God's Word is the fact that we have God in us.

It seems impossible to the human mind because human reason cannot grasp it. Our natural mind is staggered by it, nevertheless it is true because 1 John 4:4 tells us, “Greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world.”

Christianity is not a religion, not a science, not a philosophy, it is a relationship with God the Father through Jesus the Son.

It is God living His life in us and then out through us. Hebrews 3:6 But Christ is faithful as a Son over His house; whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the glorying of our hope.

We become the house in which God lives.

1 Cor 2:16 We have the mind of Christ.

The sooner we become God-inside minded, the quicker we learn to use the power that's within us, so when any difficulty arises we can remind ourselves, “The Greater One in me is GREATER than this difficulty.”

When some apparently insurmountable problem comes that stumps us, again, we can say quietly, “Lord, I need your Wisdom to get through this problem.”

What a way to live your life, always having the Greater One living in you. Always there, always ready. Everything He is, all came into you when you were born again. His healing ability, His mental alertness plus His love and His power all came inside you.

The very power that raised Him from the dead is NOW in you too. Our great need is to educate ourselves through the Word, that we may be ever conscious of His indwelling presence.

No matter how great the difficulties or what the trouble may be, I know that 1 John 4:4 says, “Greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world.”

May our hearts grow continually to consider Him as living in us, helping us face this fallen world, until He comes to take us all home to be with Him and Father God forever.

Ask & it Shall be Done Unto You!

Posted By at Wednesday, October 26, 2016

In John 15:7 Jesus said this; "If ye abide in Me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you."

What Jesus was saying to His disciples was, "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, My words abiding in you will produce faith. Then you'll ask whatever you will, and it will be done unto you."

I didn't just say that - Jesus said that and made that promise!

However, He did put limits on that promise. He didn't give us carte blanche; He wasn't saying, "Just ask for anything you want!"

No what Jesus said was, “If you abide in Me and My words abide in you. Then you'll ask whatever you will, and it will be done unto you."

You see, if His Word is abiding in you and you are walking with Him, you won't want to ask in faith for anything that's unscriptural; you'll only ask for things that line up with the Word. That is God's checks-and-balances system.

What Jesus is saying in this verse is that you can have a miracle at your own discretion. You don't have to sit back and wait to see whether it's God's own good time. Remember again He said, "If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you!"

You have Jesus' word on it - you can initiate a miracle anytime you want!

Here is a GOOD Confession for you today:

“I abide in Jesus, and His Word abides in me. Therefore, when I ask whatever I will that is in God's Word, it will be done unto me. Healing is in God's Word. When symptoms try to come, I ask for healing, and it's given to me. I am the healed!”
