I want to encourage you today not to be somebody you’re not supposed to be, start to be the person you were designed by God to be!
We must stop trying to excel and compete with the expectations of others. Trying to emulate others and being competitive is not as good as being determined and faithful to our own calling.
I know so many who went to Bible College in the 70s and 80’s and many of them are no longer even going to church anymore. They wanted to be in ministry but when they failed to make the grade they gave up on their relationship, and some have even gone back to the ‘old’ life.
Being persistent and pushing through to be ALL that God called us to be must be the goal for each one of us.
There is nothing wrong with having a mentor or someone who can help steer us along the road, but they are only an aid to what the Holy Spirit can do when we seek God sincerely. Don’t take on the mannerisms or persona of some teacher or mentor! When I listen to young preachers I can usually tell who they have been listening to, or who they're reading about as they use the same phrases and mannerisms.
3 John 2 says, Above all God wants you to prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers.
Renewing our mind is the key to success in God’s Kingdom.
God called us as individuals; first of all to be saved, so that is the FIRST step, we must receive Jesus as our SAVIOUR.
Then, if sickness has invaded our physical body, we should take the SECOND step and receive Him as our HEALER, the same way we received Him as Saviour.
Then, the THIRD step is in the area of financial needs, we should receive Him as our SOURCE BANKER the same way we received Him as your Saviour and healer.
Then, we can go further and take the FOURTH step and receive Him as the BAPTISER IN THE HOLY SPIRIT and begin to speak with other tongues, as His Spirit gives the utterance.
We are not in some competitive worldly race, so we don’t have to be in competition with others or try to measure up to their standard.
Zechariah 4:6 says "It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the LORD!"
Just start to believe God’s Word and live the love life for the Kingdom’s sake. Accept ALL that Jesus did for you at Calvary and you can be ALL that He purposed you to be!
We must stop trying to be somebody we’re not supposed to be and instead, be all that we’re supposed to be in Christ, if we do, then when the rewards are being given out we will hear Him say, "Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Lord!"
