God Gives Much More Than You Can Ask

Did you get 'YES' answers to prayer this past year? God wants to bless you much more!

2 Corinthians 1:19-20 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me, Silvanus, and Timothy—was not Yes and No, but in Him was Yes. For all the promises of God in Him are 'Yes' and in Him 'Amen' to the glory of God through us.

Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. To him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Paul the Apostle here is showing that God wants to answer prayer super abundantly above all that we can ask or think. This is how God thinks about us, according to His power that is at work within us. He has put His own power to work in us on a daily basis and we need to let that power work through us to accomplish all that He wants to do with us and for us.

2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

He does far more than we can ask, think or even dream about the Amplified says.

Psalm 50:10 For all the animals of field and forest are mine! The cattle on a thousand hills! And all the birds upon the mountains!

God knows what is best for all of us - all the time.  You will understand His provision better by assessing what He has already given you rather than continually reaching out for the things you may want. You can miss the blessing of today by being preoccupied with tomorrow. So receive what He has for you today and know that He still has enough for you tomorrow.

You can trust God to supply your needs for today and if and when your needs are more tomorrow, His supply will be greater then also.

Ephesians 3:20 Living Bible Now glory be to God, who by His mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of - infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.

We all need to learn how to worship God in deep adoration, giving glory to Him until our hearts learn how to believe in His ability to supply above and beyond all that we can ask for, dream about or even think on. Faith in God’s ability and power to supply your need comes as He teaches you the abiding presence of Christ in you. Just think about those words for a moment. It is His mighty power that is at work in us causing us to be able to believe that He is able to do far more than we would dare to ask, or even dream about, beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts and hopes.

What a super, over and above prayer answering God He is!



There can be MUCH MORE in 2014

In 1 Samuel 17 there is the great story of David and the giant Goliath.

The Philistine army was ready to fight. David, who was really just a boy, was sent by his father from the home to the battlefront in order to check on his brothers and supply them with food.

There, he heard the notorious Goliath threaten Israel. The young man was outraged: Who was this uncircumcised Philistine to challenge the Lord's army? The term 'uncircumcised' means Goliath had no covenant.

When David arrived he heard the giant berating the Israeli army and if you read the story in the Bible you will see David asked the soldiers what would the man who defeated the giant receive as a reward. In vs. 25, 26 & 30 he asked three times what the reward would be. He got the same answer each time.

  1. The King would give the victor GREAT RICHES,
  2. The King would allow the victor to marry the King's daughter the Princess,
  3. The King would allow the victor's family to be free and never to have to pay taxes again.

David sensed God's direction and provision for him so he obeyed God.

A battle ensued between a giant and a boy, but God stood with David. The army and King Saul looked out and could only see a BIG giant. But David looked past the giant and saw his BIGGER God.

Thus the giant Goliath, along with the entire Philistine army, was totally defeated by the presence of God Almighty.

This is truly an amazing story, we very rarely hear anything of this miraculous in our world today. But we, like David, can live triumphantly, even in the midst of terrifying and even impossible circumstances.

First, like David we need to understand success from God's perspective: Our goals should align with God's Word; then as our heavenly Father directs us, we can follow His directions with confidence and expectation.

Second, like David we ought to have a clear picture of what needs to be accomplished. Good goals should be clear enough to write in a sentence or two.

For example, David's aim, even as a youth was to free God's people from enemy oppression.

Our goals might be huge and lifelong or we may just like all our children to be looking to Jesus as their Saviour, their source and their supply.

Others goals, such as creating a weekly family night when everyone can sit down to the evening meal together are somewhat simpler to achieve.

Whether facing a daunting challenge like David's or a somewhat easier undertaking, you should live intentionally by The Word of God.

Just ask the Lord for direction and purpose and then write down your goals for the coming year, both big and small.

The same God who led David in victory desires to lead you today into great victory and abundance and MUCH MORE in 2014.



You Can In Christ

The English translation of Phil 4:13 is a bit weak.

Paul says in Philippians 4:13 NKJV I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

In the original Greek though, it conveys a much stronger sense that the English hardly even touches.

The word translated “strengthen” is the Greek verb Endunamao. It is related to the Greek word from which we get our English word “dynamite.”

Literally, in the original language Paul is saying, “I can do all things through the One empowering me.”

To be empowered means to be powered from within!

I am able & strong enough to do all things in Him who empowers me.

And if you are born again, you are empowered by the Spirit of Christ within!

The Living Bible says: For I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power.

You could say this verse in Philippians is your superman verse.

Friend, the reason you can is because God can! Praise The Lord!



Renovate Your Mind

The Apostle Paul says in Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Whether or not any of the following three things happen, all depend on what you do, not on what God does:

  1. Presenting your bodies a living sacrifice.
  2. Being transformed by the renewing of your mind.
  3. Prove or allow what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

God has done all He planned to do at Calvary when Jesus went to the cross for you. My job as the pastor is to teach and explain these things so the people can renew their thinking or renew their minds so it lines up with God's Word.

Let's look at this verse with the original meanings:

"Be not conformed to this world age, but be changed by the RENOVATION of your mind, that you may allow what is beneficial, well pleasing, and the complete choice of God for you in your life to come to pass."

There are three levels presented in this verse:  the good, the acceptable, and the perfect.

My role by the Holy Ghost is to teach the complete will of God, which is the highest level, so that the body of Christ rises to that top level. A pastor normally stays in one place and sees the same people every week and they're all at different levels. His job is to minister at all levels and help the people rise towards the highest level by renovating their mind or their thinking.
