The Word is the First & Final Authority

Posted By at Wednesday, July 25, 2012

God's Word is to be the first & final authority in your life every day.

2 Cor 5:7 we walk by faith and not by sight.

Romans 14:23...whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Ephesians 2:10 NLT For we are God's masterpiece.  He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.

Amplified Bible says living the good life He pre-arranged and made ready for us to live.

In verse 12 of Ephesians 2 it says we were separated from Christ, strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

So when you face a difficult situation, you should go directly to The Word of God first and see what God says about your problem.  You will see as you read God's Word aloud, that faith will begin to come back into your heart.

When you are out in the world without God, your faith level has dropped away, you are not close to or recognising the covenants of promise God has put in place for you.  Then as you HEAR the Word, faith comes in [Rom 10:17 Faith cometh by hearing God's Word] and as your faith grows again, you can believe strongly and confess what God says about the situation, not what the circumstances are saying to you.

1 John 5:14 Amplified Bible And this is the confidence, the assurance, the privilege of boldness we have in Him; we are sure that if we ask anything, make any request, according to His will in agreement with His own plan, He listens to and hears us.

v15 And since we positively know He listens to us in whatever we ask, we know with settled and absolute knowledge that we have granted us as our PRESENT possessions the requests we have made of Him.

You have to realise God's Word is God's will.  If you are doing what The Word says, you are doing God's will.

Your Attitude is a Great Key to Your Success

Posted By at Wednesday, July 18, 2012

In just about every person's heart there is some degree of desire for acknowledgement and recognition.  You can do anything you really want to do in life because it's all to do with your attitude to any situation you may face.  Your attitude to life will reflect back in life's attitude to you.

Your success or failure depends on your attitude today.

The Bible tells us through Paul in Philippians to let this mind be in us or to have the attitude of Christ.  In the Old Testament there is a great story about spies going out to search the land.  I have noted several things about the story regarding attitude.

A defeated attitude hinders God's blessing; Numbers 13:31.

A defeated attitude conceives anxiety and insecurity; Deut 1:28.

The spies left in confidence, with a spirit of adventure; but they returned in fear, grovelling before the people, no longer trusting God.  The whole camp wept because of anxiety, disappointment, betrayal and frustration and insecurity that overwhelmed them; Numbers 14:1.  Everyone wanted to impeach Moses and appoint a new leader and go back to Egypt, back to the leeks and garlic; Numbers 14:4.

A defeated attitude is the root of unbelief; Deut 1:32-33.

The Anakites (who were of large size) were now said to be Nephilim; the race of giants described briefly in Genesis 6:4.  The exaggeration of their futility led them to loose their faith in God by describing themselves as mere grasshoppers compared to the enemy; Numbers 13:33.

But we should always entertain a winning attitude to life because God and us are in the majority.

A winning attitude opens up your spiritual eyes; Numbers 13:30.

Now Joshua and Caleb had a different view on the situation.  They had a correct assessment of the enemy's strength.  But they knew no one could defeat God's people; Deut 1:29-31.  They didn't talk any fear or defeat rather they encouraged the whole company of people.

A winning attitude is the mark of a Godly leader irrespective of the circumstances.

The Bible says that God was pleased with Joshua and Caleb; Deut 1:35-36.  Joshua became Moses' successor.  He led Israel on to great victories in the battlefield and possessed the entire land of Canaan.

So we should be like Joshua and maintain a winning attitude regardless of the circumstances we face.

Have a great winning week.

The Seeds of God's Word Placed in Your Heart Need Watering!

Mark 4:28 For the earth bears fruit; first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.

It doesn't really matter how fertile the soil is, if the sun does not shine on it and if there is no rain from heaven, the seed will never germinate and grow.

Your heart is the soil in which the seeds of truth grow; but it must have the sunshine and rain of God's grace on it before it will produce any spiritual fruit.

I read about a man who pulled down an outbuilding that had stood for many years in his yard.  He smoothed the ground and left it.  The warm spring rains fell upon it, and the sunshine flooded it; and in a few days there sprang up multitudes of little flowers, unlike any that grew in the neighbourhood.  Where the building had stood there had once been a garden, and the seeds had been dormant in the soil without moisture, light, or warmth all those years.  As soon as the sunshine and the rain touched them they sprang up into life and beauty.

So often the seeds of truth lie dormant in our hearts because the light and warmth of the Holy Spirit are shut away from them by doubt or unbelief.  Then sometimes after many years if the heart is opened in some way to the influences of the Holy Spirit then the seeds which are still living shoot up into full growth.

When we have sown the heavenly seed we should continually pray that God would pour out His Spirit, like rain and sunshine, upon our heart where the seed lies to bring it to life.  In the same way for ourselves, we should seek always to keep our hearts open to every life breathing influence of the grace of God.  We want to pray constantly for the rain to come down, otherwise our hearts will lie bare and sterile even though they are filled with the divine seeds.

You Won't Survive Without The Word!

Acts 20:32 Message Now I'm turning you over to God, our marvelous God whose gracious Word can make you into what He wants you to be and give you everything you could possibly need in this community of holy friends.

The only way for you to survive in this world in these last days is by The Word of God, that's why the devil will try to keep you from reading and studying the Bible, he tries to keep you from going to church to be taught the Word.

Did you note that verse in Acts 20 I just read, God said He wants you to be and give you everything you could possibly need.

God said EVERYTHING you could possibly need.

God's Word is the seed of everything you need and it's filled with His POTENTIAL to make it happen.

Jesus said in John 6:63 Message The Spirit can make life.  Sheer muscle and willpower don't make anything happen.  Every word I've spoken to you is a Spirit-word and so it is life making.

I hope you realise your Bible is more than just a doctrinal guidebook.  It is that but it generates life, creates faith, produces change, chases the devil, causes miracles, heals hurts, builds character, transforms circumstances, imparts joy, overcomes adversity, defeats temptation, infuses hope, releases power, cleanses the mind, brings things into being and guarantees a future forever for us.

You can't survive spiritually without God's Word.

In Colossians 3:16 Living Bible Let His Words enrich your lives and make you wise!

God's Word is the spiritual nourishment you need to fulfill His purpose in your life.  It is as important spiritually to you as your food is naturally.

Be Blessed!
